5km before the SA border The pass, already at 2300m in no mans land 2300M Looking back Sue thinks we should turn back

But its a long way back Made it! 2874m, The view from the top The GPS track from the SA border through the Lesotho border to the highest pub in Africa, 20km and it took us 1 hour The custom officers where more interested in a soccer match than us

Huts, there is no mud at the top so they are made from stone Sue having an 'Irish' coffee Proof

More proof A very old sign One thinks, 'After the pass it is over', no way, 46km of dirt up to a height of 3220m took 2.5 hours. Reaching 5th gear only once for about 1km. Looking back

There is still snow at 3220m and its cold Above 2200m there are no trees but lots of daisy's and everlasting flowers Hills and more hills with very sparse vegetation Jackal buzzard

And goats The road to Katse dam Down next to the river

The only way to plough, fortunately they are not ploughing up and down as in the past. The best transport in these mountains The road down..........3100m to 1500m and down....

and down, and down....... Where we were
